Metrix/Match Color Shootout
1. Try this comparison. Start with any color image. Save it as "Original."

2. Apply a curve to Original and save it as "Curved."

3. Open Original, open Metrix, click Analyze, and click OK. Then activate Curved, open Metrix again, click Apply, and click OK.
4. The resulting image will match the Original almost precisely:

5. Now, Undo Metrix on Curved, or close Curved without saving it and re-open it. Then, match it to the Original using Photoshop's Match Color:
